What is Action for Carers and
Employment (ACE Surrey)?
ACE Surrey is part of a national project funded by the European Social
Fund's EQUAL programme and aims to address the barriers faced by carers who
wish to work. How does ACE Surrey do this? By providing independent information, advice and
advocacy in relation to education, training, employment and leisure
opportunities. By providing information about local training and
career opportunities that fit around the caring role. By seeking funding to meet the cost of training
courses. By supporting carers in planning their career choices. By offering support in applying for jobs. By working with employers, trainers, careers and
employment services to raise awareness of carers needs. By encouraging employers to adopt carer friendly
working practices By providing information and advice to employers on
how to support carers in the workplace. All these services are FREE to carers and former carers and
employers
