a comment or complaint
Your comments & complaints are important to organisations you come into contact with. It provides them with information on how services are being delivered to both you and the person you care for. More importantly by feeding back your comments good or bad and also by making complaints about service it hopefully will rectify any issues which you and the person you care for have experienced from front line services. You may also want someone to help and support you who is independent, especially when you are making a complaint. Within Surrey there is a network of Citizens Advice Bureaus and Carers Support organisations which are local to you. To support you if you are making a complaint against the NHS there is also ICAS (Independent Complaints Advocacy Service). There is also the Surrey Law Centre which provides a complementary and underpinning advice service to individuals via the voluntary organisations of Surrey in the areas of Family Law, Housing Law and Community Care Law. County Council You may also be able to take complaints to the Ombudsman for further information: The Local Government Ombudsman - looks at complaints about councils and some other authorities, including education admissions appeal panels. It is a free service. Their job is to investigate complaints in a fair and independent way. Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman - looks at complaints about the NHS in the UK. Their job is to investigate complaints in a fair and independent way Care Quality Commission - The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of all health and adult social care in England. Their aim is to make sure better care is provided for everyone, whether that’s in hospital, in care homes, in people’s own homes, or elsewhere.
