There are a number of events which take place around Surrey for Carers during the year. This area of Carersnet will tell you about the events which you may wish take part in. If you know of any events which may be of interest please let us know about the event by e mailing us with the date time, location, contact name and number and a brief description of the event. we will then put these details on our events page.

UK Events

The Cinema Exhibitors Association Card : A national card scheme has now been launched. The card entitles the holder to one free cinema ticket for a person accompanying them to the cinema. To apply for the card a person must meet one or more of the following criteria. Be in receipt of Disability Living Allowance, Be a registered blind person, Hold a disabled person's rail card. Looking After Me - Looking After Me is a free course for adults who care for someone living with a long-term health condition or disability. As its name implies, the course is about you making time to look after your own health needs. It aims to help you to take more control of your situation and make a difference to your life. National Carers Summit November 2008 - Register your interest to attend this important event when you'll get the chance to hear and quiz Government Ministers who will be listening to the concerns of carers. For further information Click here

Surrey Wide Events

Because Carers Count - This popular multi agency training course which has been delivered to over 2,500 staff across Surrey is back. Headway Drop In - Open to anyone who is affected by Head Injury. The drop in is available every Friday 10:30am to 3pm at Headway Surrey, Headway House, North Road, Guildford, GU2 9PU. For further information call 01483 454433

Tandridge

Carers are always welcome to any of the following groups / events regardless of home address 

North Tandridge Carers Support Group meeting. The group meet from 1:30pm until 3:30pm . The group meet at The Lounge, Rosedale, Park Road, Caterham. The meeting dates are as follows:21st April 2008, 19th May 2008, 16th June 2008. For details of future meetings contact 01883 745057

Lingfield Carers Support Group -  Meets at the Community Room, Gunpit Road, Lingfield. Meets Thursday afternoons from 1:30pm until 3:00pm. Meetings take place on the following dates: 10 April 2008, 8th May 2008, 12 June 2008.

Tuesday mornings - Oxted Carers Support Group meet at the Community Room, Eastlands Close, Oxted from 10:30am.
