Basic information is included here about  some national organisations. For more detailed information on the services and support they can provide it is recommended that you visit their web-sites or contact them direct. PRINCESS ROYAL TRUST FOR CARERS

The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, through its offices in London and Glasgow, works to help its network of Carers Centres reach and provide support to more carers through:

  • A training and development programme for Carers Centres
  • Raising funds for new and innovative schemes in Carers Centres
  • Providing direct grants to carers through the educational bursary scheme
  • Running a Carers in Employment programme, communicating with major employers and advising Carers Centres on local schemes
  • Developing a monitoring and evaluation programme for all Carers Centres within the network

In addition The Princess Royal Trust for Carers works to establish links at a national level with other organisations working in similar areas, looking at the potential for co-operation and joint working. It also works with statutory authorities at a national level - social services and health departments, for example - to ensure that carer's needs are considered in planning services.
