National Carers Strategy

The National Carers Strategy was launched on June 10th 2008 which was during Carers Week. The strategy contains details of Government spending £150m to fund respite care, £38m for annual health checks for Carers as well as setting up a national Carers helpline. These are just some of the initiatives which are contained in the document. Below you will find links where you will be able to download a copy of the document and supporting material.

The carers' strategy sets out the Government's short-term agenda and long-term vision for the future care and support of carers. The carers' strategy is underpinned by £255 million to implement some immediate steps alongside with medium and long-term plans. Click here to view the document.
