The Carers Strategy and Carers Charter has been developed through discussions at the Surrey Carers Strategy Group and to reflect new legislation and Government Guidance. It is also a response to organisational changes in Health and Social Care Services in Surrey. There is also a new National Carers Strategy which is being developed called 'A New Deal For Carers', which will  develop and enhance further initiatives for the estimated 6 million carers across the UK and the estimated 100,000 Carers in Surrey.

In this area of Carersnet you can find out more about the Carers Charter and Strategy. You will also be able to keep up to date with developments. You may also wish to become involved in some way.  We have developed a number of ways you can become involved within the Strategy and not all mean you have to physically come along to meetings.
