The Short Term Break Directory

The directory provides information about various venues which you may wish to use for short term breaks. It also details those venues which accept Carer Break Vouchers . These vouchers Surrey County Council have developed with Accor Services to  offer carers flexibility in the timing of a break and a choice in how alternative care can be provided while you take a break from your caring role. The Short Term Break directory outlines the services which are provided in Surrey. The database also links you to The Commission for Social Care Inspection Reports (where available). Inspection is the main way in which the commission assesses the quality of the service provided to people. It is also the main tool that they use to raise standards in care services, to at least the level of the National Minimum Standards set by the Department of Health.

After each  inspection visit a report is written by the inspector detailing how well a service meets the National Minimum Standards.  The reports  are published on the commissions website (with the exception of Children's Home and Adult Placement reports). You may search under a number of criteria such as: organisations by name organisations by specific disability organisations by category (home care, nursing home, holidays etc) organisations by area        (areas venues serve) organisations by voucher acceptance (those venues which accept vouchers) Search (if you know what you are looking for use the directory search facility)
