Finding A Nursing Or Residential Home that Meets The Needs This area of Carersnet will take you through finding a nursing or residential home and what you should look for. There are two main types of home, residential and nursing. Residential homes are for people who can no longer cope at home with their day to day activities at home and need a little extra help. A nursing home is for people whose illness or infirmity requires nursing care on a regular or daily basis. Some homes are duel registered which means they have a mixture of people who need nursing and residential care within the home. many homes can offer placements on a short term basis such if the Carer goes on holiday etc, or for more long term or permanent care. Finding the right nursing home is sometimes difficult. It may be the case that there will be some things that may not be the way you or the person you care for particularly likes but it will only be a short term for a week or so, so you may make allowances. However if it is for a permanent stay you may want to look into facilities etc more closely. There are a number of websites that may be able to help you select the right residential home or nursing home. Below you will find a number of useful links which you should look at when looking into this area.
