menu Taking A Break All of us need a break from time to time. This is especially the case if you
are caring for someone a few hours a day or full time. You may need to attend an
appointment or wish to pursue an interest or hobby. You may need to take a break
for a few hours, a few day or a week or so. This need for a break may be on a
occasional basis or a more regular break may be needed. Surrey County Council
have introduced Carer Break Vouchers which is a simple and flexible way to
provide some short term breaks. The Voucher scheme has been designed to offer
carers flexibility in the timing of a break and a choice in how alternative care
can be provided while you take a break from your caring role. There is also
Direct Payments to carers which provide a further option in how you take a
break. Crossroads and similar projects Crossroads gives practical help to carers looking after relatives or friends in their own homes by providing a flexible relief care service for the carers. Its aims are:
