There are a number of training courses which are available for people who support Carers across the county. Most of the courses are free of charge and will help you better support Carers you come into contact with. If you would like to attend any of the courses below simply download the relevant information and booking form.

This free event is organised by Surrey County Council in partnership with Action for Carers (Surrey). At a time of major change, it has never been more important to keep up to date – so do take this opportunity
to refresh your knowledge. Alternatively for newer staff, this is an excellent opportunity to improve your knowledge about carers’ rights.

This popular multi agency training course, delivered to over 2,700 staff across Surrey in the last 12 years, continues to provide a thought provoking insight into the difficulties carers face in looking after a family members or friend. Because Carers Count dates go right through to June 2012.

Carers and Personalisation

On the 25th November 2010 the Government issued a new guide on Carers and Personalisation and as part of the revised National Carers Strategy. An additional £400 million over the next four years will be invested in carers breaks and carer direct payments. The aim of the course is to help professionals consider together the importance of a person centered approach to carers assessment and provision of carer support and services.
