 Eurostar & Le Shuttle

Eurostar and Le Shuttle both carry passengers under the English Channel. The Eurostar service is an passenger only service which caters for those travelling without a motor vehicle. The Le Shuttle service caters for those people travelling with their motor vehicle.

Eurostar

All facilities on Eurostar are fully accessible to those people in wheelchairs and those with difficulty walking. The service also have developed facilities for those people who are partially sighted and people with hearing difficulties. There are special fares for wheelchair passengers and Carers who accompany them. All the accommodation is in the first class section of the train but the fare is less than the regular standard class price. For blind passengers there are also special fares. These can been purchased in first class or in standard class. Also provided are ramps, passenger conveyors and lifts. The controls for lifts are at wheelchair height and ramps have handrails. Tactile edges are on platforms and coloured markers on pillars and other obstacles to alert people who are blind or partially blind. Toilets are also accessible for wheelchair users.

Eurotunnel

The service is for those people who will be travelling with their motor vehicle. The service is designed so that you do not have to leave your car once you have boarded. All the amenities in the terminal building are on the ground floor which means those people who have mobility problems will find getting around the building relatively easy. There are disabled toilets within the terminal buildings but there are no disabled toilets once the train is boarded.
