You can protect your health with the right information and support. Some people do not get the right support because they do not recognise themselves as Carers. Is this you? The term “Carer” refers to someone who looks after or provides regular unpaid help to family members, neighbours or friends who are sick or disabled. This includes parents of children with disabilities. This helps your G.P and other Health Professionals to be more responsive to your needs. Make sure you are on your G.P’s Register by asking your Doctor or the receptionist for a form. By knowing you are a Carer the surgery will be able to support you more effectively. The Carers Recognition Worker

The aim is to highlight more Carers and encourage surgeries to use the GP Registration Scheme to signpost those in need to relevant help and support. Make sure you are on your GP’s Carers Register
